I have to be careful....

...of what I wish for! At least I have to stop always wishing and thinking into the future.
Time is going way too fast...

I wish that the boys would fall in love and get married!

I wish I had grandchildren.

Well, the weddings are in the past and Amy's baby shower was today.
Hosting 2 showers and having 2 granddaughters within 4 months.......whew!
I have gotten what I have wished for.

So now, I wish that both baby's are happy and healthy and that their parents don't 'wish' for them to grow up too soon!!

Lukas is 1 year old!

Today the Seidel family got together to celebrate the birthday of Lukas Miller!
What a big boy he is and so very handsome.
All the cousins are close in age and now they are all having kids.
Amelia and Essie already have 5 cousins!
The best part is that for once in this family's history, girls outnumber boys!

Being good to me!

I found that, as I have gotten older I really like to pamper myself.
I had read an article about women who never get sick. The one thing that they all did for themselves was to have a massage, once a month! I haven't had a single cold or flu bug since I started visiting Jody, and her magic hands, every 4 weeks!
My other luxury is having facials done on a regular basis. Just because I am turning 60 soon, doesn't mean I have to look 60, right? Not just yet....,
I can put myself into a relaxed mode just thinking about laying on those heated beds...especially on a cold Wisconsin day.
One of the best days I ever had was, a facial, acupuncture and a massage....all within hours of each other!
Now that is what I am talking about!

Introducing.....

...Amelia and her doggy, Brooklyn. I think she likes dogs!

I am a Grandmother!

I know that I have made many promises about posting more often.
I am going to do that again!
I hope that my new status in life will give me the extra 'oomph' I need. It is also something a bit more interesting to write about.
Miss Amelia June Seidel joined our family on Aug. 6, 2010.
She is amazing......of course!
My first reaction to her besides my undying love, was the thought 'oh my gosh, she is a new member of our family. Someone brand new that I don't know a thing about'!
Of course I always new my family growing up....they were always there.
Before Bill and I married, we had a chance to get to know each others families.
My sons I felt I knew right away because we were together for 9 months before they were born.
Even the 14 young women that joined our family along the way, we sort of knew through emails and letters before they were part of us.
Then Amy and Jess came along....again we had a chance to know them before they were permanent members of our family.
This little Amelia though........wow! Who are you? What do you like? Dislike?
I am so looking forward to getting to know you and your cousin Essie when she arrives.
I hope you both are happy that you were born into this special family. I hope you like to have fun and the sound of loud laughter!
I hope you like me..........

Leaving on a jet plane......

.....very early tomorrow morning.
Bill and I are headed to Nevada. Will fly to Vegas, rent a car and then head to Laughlin for 5 nights.
We will be joining a group of CASE retirees. Then drive back to Vegas for 2 nights.
Never been to Laughlin, so a new adventure.
Hope Lady Luck will be on the trip with us!
This time I don't want to loose all my $$$ I will, instead, be thinking of all the baby things I could be purchasing with the cash!
Priorities change...........always.

Peace

One year at a Rotary event, the president of Rotary International said something that I will always remember. He said "if every teenager in the world were an exchange student, there would not be so many wars". He was correct, when you live in another country, you identify with the country and it's people.
I was reminded of that statement when watching the opening ceremonies of the Olympics last night. As the countries proudly marched in, I could put faces with so very many of those countries and once again the world felt like my family.
Wishing for peace in the world.
