Silly Me

I have been wanting to start making 'crowns' for special occasions.

I just though it would be fun to personalize them and present them to special people at special times.

This is the first one......I know they will get better with practice and my imagination kicks in. I made this one for my friend/boss/neighbor, Barb. It is her 60th Birthday and we are taking her out for lunch tomorrow. We call her the 'QUEEN BEE'. That is why there are bees with googley eyes featured on it. I think it's fun and silly and I hope Barb likes it too!

time goes by

I guess I haven't updated for a while. Sorry
Last Saturday Bill and I did something wonderful with our day!
We attended the blessing of a 'Habitat for Humanity' house. It was wonderful. I didn't know what to expect at all. The house was filled with friends, family and many warm wishes.
In the basement we were all treated to a lunch with many wonderful foods that were typical of their homeland, Mexico. It was fun to eat tamales and drink a 'fruit punch' made with one of my favs...tequilla!!
That was at 10:30 in the morning.
What was wonderful thing this is......building homes for people who may have never been able to ever own one without help. The dedication of everyone involved is amazing. Bill and his company, CNH, were the sponsors and Bill was asked to say a few words. He even had a house warming gift for them.
This is one thing Bill wants to continue to do when he retires. He believes in it very strongly.
Now I understand why.

So the Christmas and New Year holidays are over.

The decorations are all put away.

Yesterday, my amaryllis decided to bloom! It had grown to almost 30 inches and I have about given up hope.

Sometimes it pays to be patient!
